According to the latest study by Panterra, used by Airbnb experts, 47 percent, or almost half of surveyed travelers, prefer authentic local cuisine. The cities that most respondents plan to visit include Alassio in Italy, Rotterdam and Chiclana de la Frontera in Andalusia. Outside the Old Continent, these include Belo Horizonte in Brazil, Shillong in India, Marloth Park in South Africa, Arakawa in Japan, Rawai in Thailand, Santa Teresita in Argentina and Oneonta in New York State.

Across the pond, Houston, Texas, is causing a sensation, with two concerts by singer Beyoncé at the end of June. Interest in lodging in the area has increased by over 620 percent. Another star, Shakira, will visit Charlotte, New York, in May, but in her case, significantly fewer fans were looking for lodging, because "only" over 200 percent more than a year ago.
In Chile, meanwhile, Beyoncé and Shakira's colleague, Australian Kylie Minogue, is making a splash. August's concerts in Santiago have led to an 85 percent increase in interest in overnight stays in the city. Meanwhile, in Minogue's homeland, Australia, overnight stays in Perth, where the State of Origin Rugby tournament will be held in June, have increased by over 250 percent.
